To the outside observer, Warhammer seems to be undergoing a sort of renaissance at the moment. The successful launch of Space Marine 2 last year, a largely popular trilogy of Total War adaptations, and securing Henry Cavill to helm the Amazon Prime adaptation of Warhammer 40k all suggest as much.
To add to the growing list, a new Warhammer 40,000 game is on the horizon. Recently, a new trailer for the upcoming game was released that reveals more about the story and clues that fans should be pleased to see.
The story seems to focus on the Blood Ravens. The Blood Ravens are a group of Space Marines who remained loyal to the Emperor during the Horus Heresy. These Blood Ravens are obsessed with knowledge-seeking. This could be lore, technology, or artifacts, sometimes from enemies, and they have a large number of Librarians (the Warhammer 40k space marine version of mages).
Warhammer novel veteran John French, who has written for Black Library numerous times, is co-writing the campaign, which looks to be taking place on a planet called Kronus. From the trailer, it looks like the Blood Ravens are not the only Space Marines with an interest in what’s on Kronus. The Adeptus Mechanicus also seem to have an interest in Kronus, and maybe even the Primarch himself. Let’s not forget about the Orks and the Necrons. So, everyone seems to want in on this party.
There is no listed release date for the game yet, but it will be released next year, in 2026. It can be wishlisted now on Steam.
