The Ocean’s new team continues to grow! The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Vicky Krieps, Omar Sy, and George MacKay have signed on for Bradley Cooper’s upcoming Ocean’s Eleven prequel film!
A prolific actress of stage and screen, Vicky Krieps is best known for her role as Alma Elson in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2017 drama, Phantom Thread. She’s also known for her roles as Prisca Cappa in M. Night Shyamalan’s Old, Empress Elisabeth of Austria in Corsage, and Ilse Koch in Monster: The Ed Gein Story. Omar Sy hit his big break in the French film The Untouchables and has starred in blockbuster film roles such as Bishop in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Daniel in Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World trilogy. George MacKay is best known for his role as Lance Corporal Will Schofield in Sam Mendes’ Oscar-winning war film, 1917. Lauren Ridloff is best known for her roles as Connie in the final 3 seasons of The Walking Dead and Makkari in Chloé Zhao’s Eternals.
Krieps, Sy, MacKay, Ridloff, and Holden join an already stacked cast of the upcoming prequel. Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie are set to play the parents of Danny and Debbie Ocean, who George Clooney and Sandra Bullock played in previous films. Last month it was reported that Wagner Moura would join the cast playing the film’s main antagonist. Last week it was announced that Monica Barbaro and Josh Gad had signed on as well. In addition to starring, Cooper will write and direct the film, replacing Carrie Solomon and Lee Isaac Chung, respectively.
The currently untitled Ocean’s Eleven prequel is set for release on June 25th, 2027.
