Since learning that Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler would be the main duo of Ryan Coogler’s The X-Files reboot for Hulu, fans have been wondering who else might be starring in the pilot episode for the reboot. New castings have been revealed, showing some big names ready to dive into the unexplained.

Amy Madigan and Steve Buscemi are among the eight named. Both have seen plenty of roles across their careers, with Madigan recently appearing in the 2025 horror film Weapons. Which many consider it one of the best films of 2025. Buscemi recently lent his voice to Starscream in 2024’s Transformers One, alongside other big names such as Scarlett Johansson.

The other six names attached to the pilot are Tantoo Cardinal, Sofia Grace Clifton, Ben Foster, Devery Jacobs, Joel D. Montgrand, and Lochlyn Munro. The pilot of The X-Files will be written and directed by Coogler. Jennifer Yale will be the showrunner and executive producer. Chris Carter, creator of The X-Files, also serves as an executive producer for the pilot, as will Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler under the Proximity Media banner.

Little is known about the plot for this reboot pilot, except Patel and Deadwyler are two FBI agents assigned to a long-shuttered division dealing with unexplained phenomena. Though different at first, they form a bond through the cases they work. Fans are sure to be interested in this pilot episode, seeing whether it can live up to the original series.
