Samara Weaving Cast As Emma Frost In new 'X-Men' Movie

The X-Men are coming together, little by little. Samara Weaving, best known as Ready or Not’s protagonist Grace MacCaullay, has been tapped to play Emma Frost, according to some sources. First showing up in the 1980’s, Frost started out as a villain before evolving over the years, often ending up as a member or ally of the X-Men. Jake Schreier, attached to direct the new X-Men movie, personally picked Weaving for the role. Weaving beat out several candidates, with the final tests being held after the 4th of July. The last actress to play Frost on film was January Jones in X-Men: First Class.

Samara Weaving, in addition to her success in Ready or Not and its sequel, has been starring in hits such as Over Your Dead Body and Carolina Caroline. In addition to Jason Schreier as director, Lee Sung Jin, creator of the Netflix series Beef, and Joanna Calo, co-creator and showrunner of The Bear on Hulu, have been signed on as screenwriters. X-Men has been in Disney’s hands since 2019, and they are going full force with it. True believers will have to wait and see just what’s in store for the mutants, but for now, we shall return to the unknown regions of the internet.
