Star Wars: The Old Republic has been a fan-favorite video game since it first launched more than a decade ago. Many fans did have concerns recently that the game may be coming to an end, but narrative director Ashley Ruhl made it clear during Star Wars Celebration Japan day two that this wasn’t the case. Not only were attendees treated to a featurette that showcased the game’s history as well as some new scenes, but they were also treated to a brand new trailer! The trailer gave fans a glimpse at what is next in the Legacy of the Sith storyline, and was narrated by Darth Malgus.
“Our paths are not destined. They are forged. Shaped by ambition and fear. The desire for power, the need for control, the price of obedience. We allowed corrupt doctrines to dictate the paths before us… no longer. A change is coming to the galaxy, forged from pain and rage and sacrifice. My chains are broken, and now I will break them all.”

The featurette showed scenes from Darth Malgus’ throne room which was last seen during the flashpoint, “The False Emperor,” where Malgus was defeated. The room is now filled with snow and looks like it has been abandoned since this battle. The trailer featured the return of Darth Jadus who had left the known galaxy years earlier. The trailer ends with a shot of Malgus and Mandalorian Shae Vizsla who was last seen breaking him out of jail.
