The anticipation for the latest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones 5 has the internet all abuzz with rumors surrounding the film. Director, James Mangold took to Twitter to debunk a few himself.

One fan tweeted that they knew an inside source who had seen a test screening of the new film. This alleged source made claims that Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm replaced Indy with a woman at the end of the movie. Mangold states clearly that there have not been any screenings of the film and anyone who says otherwise should not be believed.

There have been numerous accusations over time about other actors replacing Harrison Ford in the role of Indiana Jones. Not only has Mangold denied these claims but Harrison Ford himself has said that when he dies, the role will die with him. Those involved in this project are the only ones who know the details surrounding the plot, characters, actors, etc. and they are keeping very tight-lipped about the details.

It is noteworthy that a sneak peek of the film was viewed at D23 earlier this year and was described as spectacular per CNN, indicating that fans will likely be pleased with the final product.

Indiana Jones 5 is set for theatrical release on June 30, 2023. The previous four movies are currently available for streaming on Paramount+.
