Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie character appears in the final trailer for Marvel Studios’ The Marvels in what’s being called a “super-cameo”. Fans had been speculating whether she would appear in the movie since Thompson starred in Little Woods by the same director, Nia DaCosta. The Marvels stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyona Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel. They will be battling a new foe, Dar-Benn, a Kree revolutionary, played by Zawe Ashton. Including the Thor standout character has increased anticipation for the film. The trailer aired for the first time during Monday Night Football.

Many fans wonder if The Marvels might be setting up an A-Force film. The A-force is an Avengers team made up of all women. The A-force in the comics originally appeared as part of the “Secret Wars” story arc and Marvel has already announced that Avengers: Secret Wars is on their upcoming slate.

The Marvels is the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins. Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Nia DaCosta wrote the screenplay. The movie is to be released on November 10, 2023.
