If there is something Marvel enjoys, it’s teasing its viewers with little Easter eggs about what might be expected in their upcoming projects. In the latest Marvel production, The Marvels, reports have been circulating concerning star Nia DaCosta leaving the project post-production. The television star and film director addressed the rumors and other aspects of Marvel she “lives and breathes” for in an interview with Jake Hamilton.

In his YouTube series, Jake’s Takes, Jake asks DeCosta about The Marvels post-production, comparing and contrasting the high acclaim Steven Spielberg had with Schindler’s List being made in post-production with Jurassic Park. DeCosta explains how the film project went from a “two-year project to a three-and-a-half-year project.” In addition, DeCosts clarifies that Marvel was aware of her previous and upcoming commitments in London, commitments that would require her to work on The Marvels film remotely.

Luckily, DeCosta has managed to balance and maintain control of her work during post-production. What remains one of the most difficult aspects of post-production for DeCosta and Marvel is promoting The Marvels without its cast amid the actors’ strike. With so much pressure put on an up-and-coming director, DeCosta is confident in her team and credits the support she has received from her co-stars and Marvel. Whether or not The Marvels has a successful opening, DeCosta will have more film credits to her name in the future.
