‘The Great’ Season 3 Release Date Announced

HUZZAH! After more than a year away, Hulu’s The Great is finally returning! Catherine the Great herself made the announcement on Instagram on March 1st. The Season 3 premiere will be released Friday, May 12. While no official episode listing has been revealed, it is a safe bet that the newest season will run for 10 episodes like the previous two. 

After the announcement that filming had been completed in December, fans have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for an official release date. Since the show’s premiere in May 2020, it has gained fan and critical acclaim. Last year, the show was nominated for countless awards and fans can’t stop talking about it on social media.

The show follows a fictionalized version of the lives of Catherine the Great and Peter III. Most of the focus of Season 1 was on their marriage and how Catherine juggled Peter’s infidelity, violence, and betrayal. Season 2 saw Catherine truly take the reigns and begin ruling Russia while still battling with her insufferable husband. The Great Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Hulu with Season 3 set to arrive on Friday, May 12.
