Shiver me timbers, matey, looks like Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed is up for a remake, with the supposed official title temporarily noted on the PEGI European ratings board website no less. That title is a mouthful, by the way—Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. Notably, as of the time of publication, either the website or the title appears unavailable.

The pirate ship at the front of this franchise has taken on water, with leaks rampant. IGN Daily Fix reported earlier this week that the official title had been leaked, which came just a couple of weeks after the release date was shared online. Due to an abundance of internal leaks and fan speculation, not much in the way of detail appears to be available to the public currently.

We know the game has an 18 rating due to inappropriate language and violence. Some discussions suggest that Black Flag Resynced should include in-game purchases. IGN reached out to Ubisoft for comment, but as of yet, the game developer has not officially confirmed that the Black Flag remake exists.

Some reports suggest this is a substantial remake of the popular pirate franchise, featuring a range of upgrades that should enhance the overall gameplay experience. Fans will undoubtedly be interested to see how Ubisoft blends historical and modern elements of the narrative, not to mention learning more about the main hero, Edward Kenway, particularly his backstory and character arc. The game is likely to be released in March of 2026.
