Promotion for The Mandalorian and Groguis officially underway, with the father and son duo being featured on the cover of Empire Magazine. The cover shows Grogu on a chair with his name on it, next to his father, who has his hand on his shoulder. There’s also a solo cover featuring a close-up of Grogu. Along with a photoshoot, Empire will feature interviews of creator Jon Favreau, leading man Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and newly appointed Lucasfilm President Dave Filoni. Favreau and Filoni firmly believe that Din and Grogu are the perfect pair to bring Star Wars back to theaters for the first time since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

Filoni insists, “We’re in a completely different era of Star Wars now” and calls the film “a big celebration” of the relationship between Din Djarin and Grogu. Pedro Pascal describes Djarin’s role in the film as he collaborates with the New Republic. He calls it an “opportunity for him to continue his best work as a bounty hunter, but just working for the good guys.” Pascal believes Djarin has grown as a character, because “Through his relationship to Grogu, there is an expansion of his heart and a disarming of his armour, so to speak, that leads him to fight for what he knows is right.” Empire Magazine’s special ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ cover edition goes on sale on March 12. The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres May 22, 2026.
