'The Mandalorian' Was The Second Most Streamed Show On Disney+ Last Month

Disney recently revealed the list of Disney+’s most-watched series in 2022. Surprisingly, The Mandalorian hits a nice score and places itself in the top three. It has been a great year for the giant of the entertainment industry as its streaming platform attracted more than 46 million new subscribers. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the streaming platform counted 164.2 million subscribers across 108 different countries.

After analyzing the numbers of the platform, TheWrap came up with a list of the most-watched Disney+ shows in the United States in December 2022. This list includes a variety of series, including America’s Funniest Home Videos, Amphibia, The Orville, Bluey, Miraculous: Tales of Lady Bug and Cat Noir, Gravity Falls, and Andor. Then, in the top three, we have the animated series The Owl House, followed by The Mandalorian, and The Simpsons, the mastodon of the industry which ranks first place.

The Mandalorian surprisingly pulls off the second place despite its Season 2 finale airing back in December 2020. The upcoming Season 3 could explain the increase in viewership during this hollow time for the franchise. Many fans are likely rewatching the series in preparation for its premiere on March 1, 2023, along with new viewers who may have been caught in the Star Wars mania.

The latest trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian recently dropped during the NFL Super Wildcard game between Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccanneers further increasing the hype for the return of Grogu and the eponymous Mandalorian.
