We always say “All good things must come to an end”, but when said good thing lasts for years, it is hard not to feel its loss deep down in your core. For 21 years the comedy series set in the Halo universe, Red vs. Blue,  presented the world with the most absurd situations mixed with a good dose of humor and the precise amount of sci-fi.

Rooster Teeth Entertainment, the entertainment company behind RWBY, Camp Camp, and Death Battle!, was acquired by Warner Bros Discovery and, due to poor revenue generated by the division, it was announced earlier this month that Rooster Teeth would be closing its doors.

On March 28, it was announced that Red vs. Blue would receive its last season later this year before its definitive goodbye. Red vs. Blue: Restoration is the name of the 87-minute feature-length film, which will release on May 7.

The official synopsis reads: “When the universe’s greatest villain returns in a terrifying new form, old adversaries, the Reds and Blues of Blood Gulch, will have to set aside their differences to save the galaxy one last time.”

Matt Hullum, director of the movie, will pair up with Burnie Burns, series co-creator and writer, to bring closure to the saga. They gave some statements regarding the end of this wonderful journey:

Burns said, “I’m thrilled to return for Red vs. Blue: Restoration and to conclude this incredible 21-year journey with our longtime fans.”

While Hullum added, “Red vs. Blue has been a cornerstone of Rooster Teeth’s legacy, and we’re immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”

The final chapter of Red vs. Blue will be available to purchase for $14.99 from Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Vudu, and other electronic sell-through outlets on May 7, and available May 21 to rent digitally for $4.99.
