Once a pioneer of digital content creation, Rooster Teeth is no more. After 21 years, the production company is shutting down, a process which could take months, but is happening at this very moment. The news came to us from a memo from general manager Jordan Levin, saying,

“It’s with a heavy heart I announce that Rooster Teeth is shutting down due to challenges facing digital media resulting from fundamental shifts in consumer behavior and monetization across platforms, advertising, and patronage.”

With this information, it appears that the long-time content producer is effectively finished. But this raises one important question, what’s going to happen to their shows?

Warner Brothers Discovery, the parent company of Rooster Teeth, has stated that The Roost Podcast Network will remain operating, alongside other Rooster Teeth branded content. Rooster Teeth was founded in 2003 by Burnie Burns, Matt Hullum, Geoff Ramsey, Jason Saldaña, Gus Sorola, and Joel Heyman. Over the years, Rooster Teeth has gone through several owners, including Fullscreen and Otter Media. Several famous shows produced by Rooster Teeth include Red vs. BlueRWBY, and Camp Camp. Who knows what the future holds for these people now? All we can do now is wait for the end to come and see what comes next.
