Marvel and Hasbro, Inc. are partnering to brand collectible and tentpole Magic: The Gathering sets with fan-favorite Marvel superheroes. The release is set for 2025 and will focus on fan-favorite heroes for the initial run, but Marvel and Hasbro hope to expand the sets for multi-generational players.

Cynthia Wiliams, the President of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Gaming, said of the crossover, “We are extremely proud to collaborate with Marvel to bring its iconic characters to fans around the world in new ways. These tentpole sets will build on the tradition of incorporating beloved fan-favorite characters and elements from world-class brands into Magic: The Gathering.”

Regarding Marvel’s excitement, Dan Buckley, President of Marvel Comics and Franchise, said, “Trading cards have always been a part of Marvel’s DNA, so this collaboration takes that experience to a whole new level.”

Both companies share a similar enthusiasm for the partnership; however, few details are available beyond the announcement.

Hasbro appears eager to work with more IPs (intellectual properties), having released a Doctor Who-themed Commander set earlier this year and a Lord of the Rings-themed set. The company has released smaller collectible sets on various IPs throughout Magic's tenure, such as Bob Ross paintings to My Little Pony.
