The sequel to Godzilla Minus One, Godzilla Minus Zero, will be released in North American theatres. Toho has just confirmed the November 6, 2026, release window, only three days after the Japanese release window. The release will be handled by Gkids, which handled the previous film and largely serves as Toho’s American distributor. Plot details about the film are still under wraps, though it will almost certainly follow up from the events of the previous film. Other than that, we can only speculate as to what the plot of the film will actually be.
Godzilla Minus One was released on November 3, 2023, by Toho, three years before the planned release of Minus Zero. Directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki, the film focused on Godzilla’s appearance in a postwar Japan, focusing particularly on a former kamikaze pilot with PTSD. For Minus Zero, Yamazaki will be returning to the writer and director’s chair, alongside Toho Studios and Robot Communications as the production companies. Shirogumi will be handling the special effects, as they did for the previous movie. Other details about the film will be reported as they come out.
