Unbound Goes From Boundless To Bust!

Boundless, the publishing house formerly known as Unbound, has gone into administration…again. Over the six months, Archna Sharma, Boundless’ CEO, has filed for bankruptcy twice. That’s quite an achievement.
Unbound, a crowdfunding-based publisher, went bust in February 2025, after overextending itself. Authors stopped receiving their royalty payments even though the whole company was rebranded as Boundless and continued trading. There’s a lot more to this twisted tale, and you can get a full catch-up here.
It seems as if history is repeating itself. Boundless changed its website on August 1st, 2025, to a statement declaring that they had ceased trading. That’s the only vaguely official information that’s circulating currently. Publishing periodical, The Bookseller, released a short article, but. We’ve no idea if they were told or if the journalists there caught a lead, but Boundless has communicated via that outlet before.

Authors Chris Bonnello and Cole Henry both posted on Instagram that Boundless has not contacted its writers, illustrators, or editors, and found out through the grapevine. Although we’ve seen unconfirmed reports on social media that some people on the Neem Tree imprint were contacted.
Due to the information blackout from Boundless, there are a lot of toxic rumors circulating on social media, accusations of royalties not being paid (again), fudged sales figures, and even that Boundless hasn’t paid their printers. At this stage, we don’t know how much of this is anger, or if it’s fuelled by fact. But with Boundless, anything is possible. The only thing we know for certain is that it’s the authors who will suffer.
Whatever CEO Archna Sharma does next, let’s hope it isn’t publishing.
