Dinosaurs walk among us! The teaser trailer for the upcoming science fiction film, The End of Oak Street, has finally been released.
The synopsis reads “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, a family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.” Reporters have compared The End of Oak Street to The Twilight Zone and the acclaimed Alex Garland film, Annihilation. The film, originally titled Flowervale Street, was originally slated for release last year.
The End of Oak Street is written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, best known for It Follows, widely considered one of the greatest horror films of the 2010s. It’s the first film Mitchell has directed since the Andrew Garfield vehicle Under the Silver Lake. Leading the cast is Anne Hathaway, amidst a major comeback year as she’s also set to star in Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, and Verity this year. Also starring are Emmy winner Ewan McGregor, Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Maisy Stella (My Old Ass), and P. J. Byrne (Babylon). J.J. Abrams is producing via his Bad Robot production company, while the musical score will be provided by Abrams’ frequent collaborator, Michael Giacchino.
The End of Oak Street will travel into theaters on August 14th.
