Still riding the success of Project Hail Mary, Ryan Gosling has joined an untitled event film directed by The Daniels. The Daniels would be Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, the team behind the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once. The Daniels are closely guarding details of the project, but production is scheduled to start this summer in Los Angeles. The first news of the film surfaced in 2024, and a release date was recently set for November 19, 2027. The news around Los Angeles was the ensemble would be younger talent that would audition, but the Daniels set their sights high for the first offer.
Their aims paid off when Gosling agreed to join the project, and the timing works out well for them too. Project Hail Mary is the biggest opening in the actor’s career and broke several other records, including biggest non-sequel opening for a March movie with $80 million domestically and $141 million globally. Aside from the great box office numbers, Project Hail Mary has garnered positive reviews from audiences and critics alike. Gosling will stay in the world of sci-fi in a starring role in Star Wars: Starfighter, which will hit theaters on May 28, 2027.
