'X-Men ’97' Revival Coming To Disney+ Has Revealed Its Main Characters

As we get closer to the Fall release of X-Men ‘97 on Disney+, information is being slowly released, and we know who will be the main characters in the series. After showing a sizzle reel of the original series in Hall H at SDCC 2022, producer Brad Windebaum spoke about the endearment that X-Fans have about the animated series. Picking up several months after Xavier went to space with Lilandra to heal, the team finds themselves with a new leader…Magneto.

Executive producer Beau DeMayo confirmed on Twitter that Cyclops and Storm are the two main members taking the spotlight for the new series. This is fitting, as they are the Blue and Gold teams' leaders, respectively. Don’t worry, the main cast’s still there, with Beast, Gambit, Rogue, Wolverine, Jean Grey (minus her iconic ponytail), and Jubilee returning to the school.

Other returning characters include Nightcrawler, Bishop, Cable, Morph, Forge, and one newcomer, former New Mutant Sunspot, who never appeared in the original series. Don’t worry, they didn’t forget the villains, either. The Hellfire Club, Mister Sinister, and Callisto of the Warlocks were shown at SDCC.

While an actual date has yet to be announced, X-Men ‘97 is set to stream on Disney+ in the fall.
