It’s 2024, and there’s no more E3. The huge video game convention that had come to dominate game news until about the time of the COVID-19 pandemic has officially been canceled. Developers and publishers have already been doing their own mini-spotlights, or Directs, since then anyway.

Microsoft seems eager to get a jump on the 2024 gaming year with the announcement of an upcoming Direct in just over a week. Announced for the 18 of January, they posted a link to a press release on X yesterday.

In the release, Microsoft revealed that the Direct will start at 12 PM Pacific, 3 PM Eastern, and will be followed by a Bethesda look at the 2024 map for The Elder Scrolls Online an hour later. It goes on to highlight four games to be shown during the event. Those games include the upcoming Indiana Jones game by MachineGames, Avowed by Obsidian Irvine, Ara: History Untold by Oxide Games, and finally Ninja Theory’s follow-up game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.

Each studio will feature the developers involved in the project, who will spend the hour going through the highlighted games’ stories and design, with a special 10-minute look at game footage and the developers’ insights for Indiana Jones, complete with story details and the first gameplay trailer.

The Developer Direct will stream live on the Xbox and Bethesda official social media sites.
