Shifter's Protocol is a self-described queer action packed story created, written, and drawn by trans-masc Filipino creatives. The goal of the creators is to promote stories featuring diverse stories where trans-masc individuals act as the main characters. In the world of the Tambal, an elite female led assassin clan that fights against male oppression internationally. A warrior named Iz, a well trained assassin who was born and raised with the belief that their work by killing the rich and powerful would lead them to a great purpose finds himself identifying as a man. The comic also features other characters including Amica, Iz’s 15-year-old sister, Maria, Iz and Amica’s cousin, and Magdalena, Iz and Amica’s mother.
Shifter’s Protocol is written by Liam Coballes, a trans dubbing producer and comic writer, and drawn by Arthur, a trans sci-fi and fantasy illustrator. The comic also features Camille Bautista and Kyla Aiko acting as cover variant artists. The comic’s original Kickstarter goal was set for 2027, but it sadly failed to meet its stretch goal of $8,000. However, the creative team has relaunched a new campaign, which you can support right here!
