If you’re into popular anime/manga like Jujutsu Kaisen, Bleach, or Fire Force, take a peek at a new Kickstarter campaign for the first chapter of a webcomic series called Souls Laid To Rest.
The series focuses on Shin Kirisaki, a quiet high school student who discovers he has superpowers and finds himself caught in a war between the Oni and the Soul Hunter Regiment, a group of hunters tasked with purifying evil souls. Shin also finds out that his powers not only connect to his past, but are also tied to something dark within himself.
The series also touches on numerous themes such as identity, grief, friendship, and responsibility.
While this is the first chapter of the webcomic, the Kickstarter campaign, along with the creator, Noah Terrance Greene, notes that this is a project he’s been trying to make for a while, especially since he is a recent graduate of Howard University.
