Things are heating up in the final season of The Bad Batch. Episode 13 titled “Into The Breac”’ gives us two different stories. The Bad Batch works with Rampart to find Tantiss, and Omega devises a plan to escape Tantiss once and for all. We see Omega stuck in the Tantiss prison with the other children, whom the Empire lovingly calls “specimens”. She makes conversation with the other child Eva, who has her makeshift Lula doll. Omega inquires as to where she got it from, and Eva says from Emerie and calls her the “only nice one”. The other children tell her they aren’t supposed to talk to each other, but that doesn’t stop Omega.

Omega informs them that she has escaped once before, and plans to do so again. Omega starts to investigate her surroundings and eventually steals a tool from Emerie’s tray during one of her visits. Omega notices that the blood sample is then taken away by an opening in the wall, accessible by droids. Using the tool she took, she opened up her cell walls, to investigate. One of the other Doctors grows suspicious and goes to check on the kids, and Omega, who has sealed up her wall and is sitting on her bed. She reconvenes with the other children and tells them that she has found their way out.

The boys will do anything to get those coordinates, and find Omega, so they use Rampart to their advantage. He doesn’t know the coordinates of Tantiss but knows how they might be able to get them. They must infiltrate an Imperial ship to find the ship, and the coordinates, headed to Tantiss. The plan is crazy, but Rampart has no choice but to go along with it. They also get help from one of their own, who makes a return. In one of the saddest moments from the season, the boys strip their armor of their uniqueness, to not draw attention to themselves, when they act like Rampart’s bodyguards. Rampart is also demoted to Captain for the mission, something he is not too excited about. They get to the room with the ship coordinates, but when they find out the coordinates won't be released until after it has left. They decide to split the party, which is never a good idea. One of them needs to infiltrate the ship leaving and disable the proximity sensors, so then Hunter can attach their ship to the one leaving for Tantiss. It’s a close call, but somehow it works, and they are headed for Tantiss.

Omega has grown so much, and it’s great to see her take on more of a leadership role. She is determined to escape again and take their children with her. She is their only hope, and I just want to see Omega and the other children escape because nobody deserves to spend their childhood under the watchful eye of the Empire.

Only two episodes are left, and everything is leading up to an exciting finale. I know I am going to miss this era of Star Wars, and especially Clone Force 99. It doesn’t feel like we had enough time with them. I am excited, and nervous, to see how this show ends. I do know though, however, it ends, it will be a great finale, no matter the outcome.

Rating: 9/10
