'The Bad Batch' Season 3 Episode 14 "Flash Strike" Spoiler-Free Review

The penultimate episode of The Bad Batch is finally here. The episode, titled Flash Strike, featured three different stories, which will hopefully all come together at the end. It also brought up more questions, than answers, and hopefully, everything will somehow be resolved in the final episode.

The Batch makes it to Tantiss, but unfortunately, they are found out. Hemlock, being the terrible person he is, is alerted to an issue with the ship and Clone Force 99, once he puts both together, he realizes they have made it to Tantiss, and sends some squads after them. The Batch runs through the jungle, hoping they’re going the right way. Once they get close and have to start climbing, Rampart ruins it all and awakes a monster. This sets them back, as now they have to run the opposite way, hoping they don’t run into any troopers. It does work to their advantage, as they are spotted, but the beast goes after the troopers. Rampart got separated and was captured.

RELATED:

Echo, who hitched a ride on the main ship, is trying to reunite with his brothers. He however has an advantage, as he is in the prison on Tantiss. He blends in as best as he can and even gets a stormtrooper uniform to disguise himself. After encountering a droid, he even gets a hand back, something he hasn’t had in a long time. As he makes his way through the prison, he eventually finds the lab, where he plugs in to get information, and discovers where Omega is. He is discovered by Emerie.

She realizes who he is, as Omega has talked about all of them. Echo mentions that they are not only here for Omega, but to rescue everyone who is being held prisoner. Emerie informs him that he won’t be able to rescue Omega or the other children, without her help. Emerie has been an interesting character, even though we haven’t seen a whole lot of her. I hope she does indeed switch sides, and helps Echo with freeing Omega and the other children.

Meanwhile, the kids know something is up. Omega is not afraid and informs that it’s her brothers here to rescue her. She takes this opportunity to go exploring, to find a way out. During her exploration, she finds a discovery that could work in her favor. The kids desperately try to cover for her, when the droid and a Doctor come in to take their vitals. Not knowing Omega has returned, the boy even volunteers to go next. The Doctor declines and we see Omega back on her bed. After, she informs the other kids, that she has found their way out.

Something I haven’t talked about this season has been the music. Music in Star Wars is always incredible, but this episode was something else, and stood out to me, more than all the others. It fits each scene's tone so well, adding to the tension. The Kiners have done a great job with the music this season.

There is so much to wrap up, I have no idea how one more episode will accomplish that. I hope the finale is longer so that all the stories can finish. Even though the Batch is being pursued, It seems that things may be looking up, and we might actually get the happy ending after all.
