The Bad Batch is once again separated, but this time by choice. Episode 8 of the final season, titled ‘Bad Territory’, brings back a familiar bounty hunter, and separates the members of Clone Force 99.

Pabu is a sanctuary for so many, including The Bad Batch, and let’s hope it stays that way. Hunter and Wrecker want to know more about Omega’s M-count, and what it is, so they contact Phee Genoa. She does not have any information regarding the M-count but knows someone who does. Unfortunately, this someone is a familiar bounty hunter who tried to capture Omega and bring her to the Empire. Phee tracks her down and leads Hunter and Wrecker to where she is. Omega feels like she is to blame for what happened to Echo and Rex’s squad, and wants to go with her, but Hunter says she’ll be safest on Pabu. This is where the group splits, with Crosshair and Omega staying behind, while Wrecker and Hunter go on a mission. After heading to her location, they meet up with the familiar bounty hunter. To get their information, they agree to work for her and help her capture a bounty. It brings them to a planet that is full of danger. Using their expertise, the three of them can successfully capture the bounty. The bounty hunter tells them that she will get them their information, once the target is delivered. The episode ends with her talking to a mysterious voice off-screen. She could be ratting them out to the Empire, but it’s more likely that she is talking to Asajj Ventress, who we know will appear this season.

Back on Pabu, Omega, and Crosshair are trying to diagnose the issue with his hand. AZI looks over his hand and decides that physically there is nothing wrong, so it's probably something mental. Crosshair isn’t happy with this diagnosis, but Omega tries to help him. They practice shooting targets, but he ends up missing. Eventually, they end up doing meditation. Crosshair isn’t a fan, but Omega assures him this could be what he needs to center himself and stop his hand from shaking. As much as I love the group being together, I love to see Omega and Crosshair get closer, and Omega acting so much like their big sister.

Clone Force 99 has always worked well together. They each had their strengths that benefitted the group. Even without the other members, Hunter and Wrecker still work well together. Hunter and Wrecker were hired by the bounty hunter for their skills, which helped them succeed. We saw Omega use the skill she learned from Gungi, to help Crosshair with his hand. Hopefully, we see Crosshair get his sniper skills back, so he can finally feel like a member of the team again.

It seems that Omega is safe for now, and let's hope it lasts. The threat of the Empire is still out there, but it seems that is something we may not have to worry about for a bit. This episode was exciting, and let’s hope the theories about Ventress are correct, and that we will get to see her in the next episode.
