Star Wars meets Dungeons & Dragons! In every adventure film or series, especially those featuring a group of protagonists, the characters fill different types of roles in the storytelling. Sometimes these roles can be rather predictable; a tank, a long-range attacker, a tracker, some type of mage…very Tolkien. As a D&D nerd, Ian Bowling (one of the podcast hosts) likes to imagine these archetypes as playable Dungeons & Dragons characters. Although the raw 5E system doesn’t apply directly to sci-fi lore like that of Star Wars, it leaves room for fun interpretation. On this episode of Star Wars Culture LIVE, Ian and Marty apply this treatment to Bad Batch characters Wrecker, Crosshair, Hunter, Tech, and Omega.

What is Star Wars Culture LIVE? Most Wednesdays, at 7pm Eastern, two die-hard Star Wars fans embark on a voyage of celebration and nerdiness on a positive podcast focused on the best of the Star Wars fandom. These characters are Ian Bowling and Marty Ingleston, and they’ve been the hosts of SWCL since August of 2024. Since then, the podcast has gone through numerous stages of evolution: “Top 3” favorites, dad jokes, “On This Day”, guest appearances, and many other types of segments. This week, the news was very light, and the guys moved pretty quickly into the Bad Batch x Dungeons & Dragons adventure.
