Star Wars Stuff has used its platform on X to keep fans updated on everything about The Acolyte. The most recent post included an image from the series with a dark-cloaked figure standing between slashed-down columns while casually holding a lightsaber before their cloaked body. The glowing red from the kyber crystal illuminates the otherwise colorless landscape. The caption reads “OFFICIAL: THE ACOLYTE will release on Disney+ on June 4!”

Another update via Star Wars Stuff provides background information on the lore on which the Disney+ series is based via the show’s creator, Leslye Headland. "There's also some EU lore that I decided to put in because I thought it was so cool and no one told me I couldn't. The series will introduce a Zygerrian Jedi and canonize one species that’s yet to be seen." This mystery-thriller side of Star Wars promises to examine the gray areas between the light and dark sides of the force and is the first live-action look at the era of the High Republic. Newcomers to the franchise and those who have not read the books need not fear; Headland promises that viewers will be able to enjoy the story without knowing much going on. Another promise that Headland makes is,

“Whatever you think The Acolyte is, it’s not that. It's a drop in the bucket, baby. Just hang in there and check it out.”

Speaking of “checking it out,” the first trailer has been released and is a must-see first look at the series. The Acolyte will have a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on June 4, 2024!
