Star Wars Celebration is a Star Wars fan convention that first began in 1999 to celebrate the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, the first Star Wars film released in over a decade at the time. Star Wars Celebration has remained part of the Star Wars fandom ever since, with new conventions held every 1-3 years and on special occasions such as anniversaries of the franchise, new films, etc. Major announcements involving the franchise, upcoming series and films, merchandise, cosplay, and celebrity guests are some of the typical highlights of Star Wars Celebration.

It is the one time where everybody puts aside their likes and dislikes about the franchise and remembers why everybody loves that galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars Celebration is attended by Star Wars fans worldwide, bringing together a diverse audience. Additionally, since its inception, Star Wars Celebration has traditionally been held in different locations worldwide. The very first Star Wars Celebration was held in the United States, specifically in Colorado.
It has since been held in California, Florida, Illinois, and even my own state, Indiana, in 2005, which welcomed Star Wars creator George Lucas to Star Wars Celebration. Star Wars Celebration has also been held in Japan and several European countries, including England and Germany.

Due to Star Wars Celebration’s focus on Star Wars, love for the franchise is the uniting element of the convention, bringing fans together from all walks of life, races, religions, occupations, and levels of fandom. Many significant relationships and connections are formed and/or strengthened during the convention and celebration of the venerable franchise.
Star Wars Celebration 2027, which will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the movie that started it all, A New Hope, will be held in Los Angeles, California. Star Wars Celebration 2027 is scheduled for April 1-4, 2027. Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine), Ahmed Best (Jar-Jar Binks), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano voice actress), and Anthony Daniels (C-3P0) are currently slated to attend. As of this writing, tickets are already sold out approximately nine months before the event, demonstrating its massive popularity among Star Wars fans.
