5 Coolest Moments In ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Series
It has been almost two decades since the pilot episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars was first released. Since then, we have seen multiple pieces of Star Wars content spawned from this incredible series, including Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Star Wars Rebels, and Ahsoka, just to name a few. The series changed the franchise forever by introducing animated content that would bring in new and younger fans to the galaxy far, far away. The series is filled with action, romance, and great character introductions, so I have decided to compile a list of the five moments that I think were the coolest in the series. WARNING!! This article contains spoilers for the entire Clone Wars series!!
5. Darth Sidious Vs Darth Maul And Savage Opress (S5 E16)

Darth Sidious is a character that we see very little of in the context of his fighting abilities. We know that he is strong, but we rarely see him in action since he typically keeps to the shadows, ensuring his true identity stays hidden. In this episode, we not only see him in action, but we are also reminded, along with Darth Maul, that he is still the strongest Sith in Star Wars. He confronts Maul for breaking the “rule of two” and easily kills Savage Opress, reinstating his dominance over his former apprentice. Their battle is short, but it is amazing to watch.

4. Zombie Nightsisters (S4 E19)

The Nightsisters are some of the most fascinating characters in the galaxy, and I hope that we will get more content with them in the future. Not only does this episode show more of Mother Talzin’s power, but it is also one of the first times that Star Wars leans into the horror genre. Dathomir is already a terrifying place, but with General Grievous and his Droids approaching, Mother Talzin sends her green mist magic across the planet to bring the dead Nightsisters back to life. The Zombie Nightsisters are equal parts terrifying and awesome, and seeing them battle droids is one of my favorite moments from the entire series.
3. Rex And The Bad Batch Rescuing Echo (S7 E2)

Losing Echo earlier in the series was one of the most difficult things that Rex was put through, so getting to see him save Echo was really cool. After intercepting a separatist transmission, Rex recognizes Echo’s voice and identification code. This is what leads Anakin, Rex, and the Bad Batch to infiltrate the base on Skako Minor. Seeing Rex reunited with Echo was special, and it is what made their reunion in The Bad Batch that much more impactful.
2. Anakin Seeing His Future On Mortis (S3 E17)

I have talked about the Mortis arc multiple times in other articles because it is one of the most fascinating arcs in all of Star Wars. There are plenty of cool moments within this arc, but nothing beats when the Son shows Anakin his future and we hear moments from the prequels and Darth Vader’s breathing apparatus. The final shot is of Anakin in anguish over what he has seen and Vader’s mask forming around him in smoke. The imagery, emotion, and voice acting are what make this moment not only one of the coolest in the series but also one of the most emotional.
1. Ahsoka’s Duel With Maul On Mandalore (S7 E10)

There is no cooler moment in any Star Wars animated content than Ahsoka and Maul’s duel on Mandalore. The scene on screen is epic with the conversation being had between the characters, the choreography of their duel, but also the setting of Mandalore literally falling apart around them. What makes this scene even cooler is what was going on off-screen. The sequence was done using motion capture technology, which allowed for a more dynamic scene than the other battles in the series, but another really cool aspect is the fact that Ray Park provided the motion capture for Maul. Park was the actor who portrayed Maul in The Phantom Menace, so the scene is not only cool but also nostalgic.
