Cillian Murphy’s Jim character will be returning, just not to 28 Years Later. Director Dannyboyle has revealed his plans for his series of 28 Days Later sequels, ‘Well, it's three films, a trilogy of films which have connecting characters." This included the new character, Spike, a 12-year-old played by Alfie Williams. “He will run right through the films. We've shot the first two back-to-back, and that was for logistical reasons, actor availability reasons, and for story reasons as well. They're literally continuous." This second film is titled 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which will tentatively feature Jim, though details are not yet known.
