One of Marvel’s most iconic post-credit scenes could have been even more shocking.  Jon Favreau revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live this past Wednesday that there is an extended version of Iron Man’s post-credit scene with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.

Favreau, who directed much of the Iron Man trilogy and appeared in MCU as Happy Hogan, visited Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the new season of The Mandalorian, now streaming on Disney+.  During the interview, the conversation turned to his Marvel directing role, where he revealed that he filmed a special scene with Samuel L. Jackson.

“We really filmed this just for fun,” Favreau clarified when host Jimmy Kimmel revealed that they were able to air the never-before-seen footage.

The scene begins familiarly, with Jackson’s Nick Fury facing the wall and shrouded in darkness.  “I am Iron Man,” he bellows in his familiar booming voice, “You think you’re the only superhero in the world?”

But when an off-camera Tony Stark asks, “Who the hell are you?”, Nick Fury responds in the most Sam Jackson way possible—“Nick Fury, motherf-----!”

Favreau admits in the interview that he knew it could never be part of the movie, but fans everywhere are grateful to know that the actor’s legendary delivery of his most iconic line at least exists somewhere in the multiverse.
