That’s right, Admiral Gial Ackbar is back. Dave Filoni has confirmed that the Mon Calamari will be coming to Ahsoka in its second season. How much of a role he will have is unknown at the moment, but Filoni has stated that he will be having a “face-off” with Grand Admiral Thrawn. Admiral Ackbar’s death in The Last Jedi was a sore spot for many filmgoers, so the chance to see him again will surely be met with open arms. Elden Bennett will be portraying Ackbar, though we don’t know if he will be providing his voice.

Admiral Gial Ackbar was one of the foremost military leaders of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and after that, the New Republic. He had an extensive career in both canon Star Wars and the Legends continuity, serving in many battles. The idea of him facing off against Thrawn is nothing new, the two having been adversaries in Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire trilogy of books. Though Ahsoka’s first season received mixed reviews, Admiral Ackbar’s return is a “trap” that several fans will be happy to see sprung. We shall now be returning to the Unknown Regions of the internet to search for further news.
