After a tease for their Star Wars Celebration panel several days ago, Bit Reactor was finally able to show off this long-awaited Star Wars video game.
First off, Star Wars Zero Company is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S and PC in 2026. Second, it is reconfirmed to be a single-player turn-based tactics game with a strong resemblance to X-COM, with some in the community jokingly referring to the game as Z-COM.
Zero Company’s story is set at “the twilight” of the Clone Wars, and sees a disgraced Republic officer named Hawks gathering allies to conduct operations against a threat emerging in the galaxy.
The game’s director, Greg Foertsch, described Hawks as a character who helps the studio dig into a unique point of the Clone Wars and allows for exploration of a boots-on-the-ground story. Foertsch also notes that they wanted to explore locations that a wider audience might not be as familiar with, and other information bears that out. They highlighted the interactive world map, accessible via the story’s home base, called the Den, based on the Ring of Kafrene from Rogue One. Players will get an opportunity to run missions on planets like Serolonis, Vandor, and Mapuzo from The Bad Batch, Solo, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, respectively.

The game’s characters from the teaser were also discussed. Alongside Hawks, we have Trick, a laconic clone trooper, Luco Bronc, an Umbaran sniper, Cly Kullervo, a Mandalorian gunslinger, and Tel-Rea Vokoss, a Tognath Jedi Padawan. Players will also get the chance to create their own characters to fill out the squad. Evolution of the hero characters was mentioned, alongside the note that having fractious team members work together on missions may improve their relationship.
In addition to the characters, Bit Reactor also took a moment to highlight the ship that will shuttle combatants from planet to planet. Called the Caisson, it is a boxy, twin-engined vessel seen in the game’s first trailer, and is piloted by a droid called M-3VO.
We eagerly await more news about the game over the coming year!
