Star Wars Celebration Japan has kicked off with a bang, bringing a variety of exciting news for Star Wars fans and still going strong. One project fans have been eagerly waiting for an update on is the Disney+ series Ahsoka, which was confirmed to have a second season in January 2024. While speaking to Collider, show creator Dave Filoni gave an update on the status of Ahsoka season two.
Filoni confirmed the start of filming, “We're going to start shooting in four days, so I have all the scripts done. There's a version of them all done, but I always keep working on them as I go. Again, you have to keep evolving them, keep improving them.” On the creative process, the creator explained, “The whole thing is you have so much time, and you’ve got to use every second you've got to make this thing better. Collaborating with the team and the actors as things evolve and change, you take every moment you've got to make it better.”

During a panel, Hayden Christensen confirmed his character’s return, “There’s not much I can share, but Anakin will be back for season two.” The plot specificities are being closely guarded at this time. From Thrawn being in the main galaxy again to Ahsoka and Sabine being actively present in a universe new to the audience, there are many directions the season could take.
There is no release window for the second season of Ahsoka at this time. The first season left off at a tense point; Ezra and Thrawn were able to get back to the primary universe, but Ahsoka, Huyang, and Sabine are now in the other universe. The Mortis gods were shown in statue form as well, found by Baylan. Anakin is present as a Force ghost in the other universe, opening a window for him to return later. While you wait for the next season of Ahsoka, the first season, as well as Star Wars: Rebels, are available to stream on Disney+.
