Apple just released the trailer for season two of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which will premiere on February 27 with the first of 10 episodes to be released every Friday until May 1.

Here is the excerpt for season two:

Season 2 will pick up with the fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend, and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.

The trailer reveals that the “mystical Titan” is no other than Titan X, a giant monster emerging from the deep sea:

In addition to Kong, Season 2 will feature Godzilla and introduce a new Titan: the enigmatic Titan X, now officially on the loose. Titan X isn’t just another monster; it’s a living cataclysm. When its massive bioluminescent form breaks the surface of the ocean, the world seems to hold its breath. In Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, Titan X stands at the center of the mystery — an ancient force emerging from the deep, its purpose uncertain, its power unmatched, its awe and terror in equal measure.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is part of the so-called Monsterverse that started in 2014 with Godzilla, followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, and 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Season one of Legacy of Monsters premiered in November 2023 on Apple TV, telling the story of the mysterious organisation Monarch in two timelines, one set in the 1950s and the second half a century later.

Kurt Russel and his son Wyatt star as (the younger and the older version of) Army officer Lee Shaw. Both actors will reprise this role in season two. Further cast members include Anna Sawai as Cate Randa, Kiersey Clemons as May Olowe-Hewitt, Ren Watabe as Kentaro Randa, Mari Yamamoto as Dr. Keiko Miura, Joe Tippett as Tim, and Anders Holm as Bill Randa.

In addition to Legacy of Monsters, Godzilla will also appear in Godzilla Minus Zero later this year.
