Billy Magnussen Joins Zach Galifianakis And Maia Kealoha In Disney's Live-Action Remake Of 'Lilo And Stitch'

Disney’s live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch adds a new actor to the cast list as No Time to Die star Billy Magnussen joins Zach Galifianakis and Maia Kealoha. The live-action remake of the 2002 animated classic will reintroduce the story of an alien learning the meaning of ohana (which means family in Hawaiian). Engineered to be a force of destruction, Stitch, or Experiment 626, escapes from his exile to crash-land on Earth, and becomes a more caring, calmer being through his interactions with Lilo and her older sister Nani.

Kealoha will be portraying Lilo. It is currently unknown who Magnussen and Galifianakis will be playing. The likely answer to that would be Dr. Jumba Jookiba (Stitch’s creator), and Agent Pleakley, who are sent to Earth to recover Stitch.

Oscar nominee Dean Fleischer Camp will direct the remake with Chris Kekaniokalani Bright writing the script. There is no information about the plot of the film and it is unclear how much its storyline will follow the 2002 original movie.

The film will be produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Rideback and currently has a tentative release date of 2024.
