And the workers go back to the mine.

After the massive successes of films like Iron Lung, Obsession, and Backrooms, it was a given that Hollywood would start searching the internet for cheap horror projects to make into hopefully bankable films. With upcoming projects based on things like Poppy Playtime, SCP, and The Walten Files, we’re sure to not run out soon. On that note, somebody else is throwing their hat into the ring.

YouTuber Matthew Patrick, better known online as MatPat of the various theory channel fame, is teaming up with Blumhouse to bring a movie adaptation of the well received Amanda the Adventurer indie games to the big screen. The original game follows a woman named Riley as she discovers some old VHS tapes in the attic of a house that was left to her by her late aunt, which have episodes of a Dora the Explorer-esque low-budget kids’ show that slowly becomes more sinister than it appears.

So far nobody is tapped to write or direct the film, though Patrick and Jason Blum stated that they are in talks with people. No release date has yet been set.
