It seems as if Cameron Monoghan likes Cal Kestis just as much as the people who play the games he’s in. As Cal is one of the Star Wars video game protagonists that fans want to see brought to other mediums, the actor who plays him also appears to be a large fan, as he stated in a recent interview about the upcoming game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

He made his excitement clear in a recent interview. “It’s an honor to be a part of a title releasing now in this generation of consoles with the Jedi series. I think that people have been looking for titles that really excite them to make the leap to the next generation. Speaking personally, having seen how this game looks and how it runs on the next generation of consoles, I think it’s going to have people very excited.” Even though you may want to simply shrug this off as an entertainer selling out for the sake of building hype around a product, remember that Monoghan is a gamer himself, and knows what it’s like to be in the shoes of the customer. He’s even lucky enough to have played chunks of the game himself.

He also talked about the character’s continued relationship with his informal master Cere Junda, still played by Debra Wilson. “Frankly, they have different ideas of how to deal with imperialism and the Empire. In the first game, it was about finding family and what it means to create a family. With this story, a lot of it is to do with ‘What happens when there’s stress on a family?’”

The cast of the new game will also include Bode Akuna being played by Noshir Dalal, and the droid BD-1 will also be returning. The game will be released on March 17th of next year on PS5, XBox series X/S and PC, and will take place 5 years after the end of the first game. The recently released trailer can be seen below.
