Ahead of the upcoming Chainsaw Man Movie release in the US this Halloween, it was just announced that a collection of creator Tatsuki Fujimoto’s earliest works are set to receive an anime adaptation at Prime Video.

‘Tatsuki Fujimoto Short Stories 17-21’ and ‘Tatsuki Fujimoto Short Stories 22-26’, two collections of one-offs created by a young Fujimoto from ages 17 to 26, are set to receive an anime anthology from Prime Video titled, Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26. Fans will get the chance to see some of the mangaka’s earliest concepts fully animated, cluing audiences into some of the ideas, thought processes, and lessons he would learn while going on to make critically acclaimed manga such as Goodbye Eri, Look Back, Fire Punch, and Chainsaw Man.

The anime anthology will comprise eight episodes, with seven directors and six different studios tackling the stories, spanning a multitude of genres, exploring themes of romance with titles such as ‘Love is Blind’ and ‘Shikaku’, adolescence and gender identity with ‘Sasaki Stopped a Bullet’ and ‘Woke-Up-As-A-Girl Syndrome.’ Other stories include the post-apocalyptic ‘A Couple Clucking Chickens Were Still Kickin’ In The Schoolyard’, ‘Sisters,’ and ‘Nayuta of the Prophecy’, a title that might ring some bells for Chainsaw Man fans.

The studios involved are ZEXCS, Lapin Track, GRAPH77, 100Studio, Studio Kafka, and P.A. Works, with directors including Tetsuaki Watanabe (Blue Lock), Nobuyuki Takeuchi (Revolutionary Girl Utena), and Kazuaki Terasawa (The Ancient Magus Bride).

All eight episodes of Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 launch worldwide on November 7th on Prime Video.
