An update has been released regarding Craig Gillespie's upcoming film Supergirl (2026). Its soundtrack composer will now be Claudia Sarne. Sarne has worked on a variety of television series and movies. Some of her best-known projects include The Book of Eli (2010), Love+War (2025), four episodes of The Yogurt Shop Murders, Días de gracia (2011), and an episode of Black Mirror. She has won the Silver Ariel Best Score and the Mayahuel Award for Best Original Score for Días de gracia (2011) in 2012, and was nominated for the Black Reel Best Original Score for The Book of Eli (2010) in 2011 and the Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards Best Score for Love+War in 2025.
Supergirl is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026. The film is a follow-up to Superman (2025), following Kara Zor-El as she celebrates her 23rd birthday while partying across different planets. During this adventure, she meets Ruthye Marye Knoll and ends up on a revenge quest. The cast includes Milly Alcock as Kara/Supergirl, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills. It will be directed by Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. Supergirl (2026) is the second film installment to James Gunn’s DC reboot, and the fourth installment overall.
