DC Studios Offers Look Into Spin-Off Series 'My Adventures With Green Lantern' Starring 'Moana' Star Auli'i Cravalho

DC

A new character is coming to My Adventures With Superman. Jessica Cruz will be joining the show. While she will be a normal human in this, her addition sets up a new series where she will become a Green Lantern. My Adventures With Green Lantern will follow Cruz, a high school student, as she is chosen by a Green Lantern ring to be its wielder and champion. She will have to balance her newfound responsibilities with her normal life on Earth as a new threat emerges. Actress Auliʻi Cravalho, best known for portraying the Disney princess Moana in several projects, as well as other roles, will be the voice of Cruz in both projects.

Showrunner of both series, Jake Wyatt, explained the plan (via Entertainment Weekly), "We’d already planned…to showcase how Supergirl, in particular, was changing their world. We wanted to look at how different people had very different reactions to the same Kryptonian.” He continued, “So when word came down from the brass that Green Lantern was greenlit, we wanted our pre-Lantern Jessica Cruz to give us the girl-on-the-street view of Supergirl. How would a shy, relatively powerless teenager see this powerful, young super-woman out there changing the world? And what would it be like for Supergirl to see herself through Jess’s eyes?” Season three of My Adventures With Superman is releasing weekly during Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. My Adventures With Green Lantern does not have a release date.
