Doctor Who has announced another casting for season fourteen. Star of Frozen, Glee, and Mind Hunter Jonathan Groff will be joining the fifteenth Doctor Ncuti Gatwa in an episode due to be screened over the Christmas period. Groff is an accomplished actor, singer, and all-round performer with two Tony nominations under his belt. He also became a viral TikTok meme for his performance as King George in Hamilton. Russell T. Davies appears to be looking for actors with a musical theatre background to fill the ranks of Whovian villains, with Jinkx Monsoon and Neil Patrick Harris also acting in upcoming specials.

Despite being seven months away, there’s been a surprising amount of information released about season fourteen. The new doctor’s suit has already been dropped in an image showing Ncuti Gatwa as the first person of color to take charge of the TARDIS. Ex-Coronation Street star, Millie Gibson has landed the coveted Doctor’s Assistant spot, Ruby Sunday. Another British Soap Opera alum, Anita Dobson will also be joining the roster for series fourteen as nosey neighbor, Mrs Flood. Since the franchise loves to keep the fandom talking, there’s a strong possibility that fans will be given more spoilers and clues closer to the time.

Doctor Who is free to stream on BBC iPlayer (UK only) or for an additional cost on Amazon Prime in other territories.
