DreamWorks Animation announced that six new actors will join the voice cast of the full-length animated feature, Forgotten Island, due to hit theaters late next year—H.E.R., Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, Lea Salonga, Manny Jacinto, and Liza Soberano.

H.E.R. is best known for Judas and the Black Messiah, The Color Purple, The Six Triple Eight, and Yes Day. Dave Franco has been seen in Neighbors, The Disaster Artist, 21 Jump Street, and as Jack Wilder in the Now You See Me: Now You Don’t franchise. He will reprise his role in the next installment of Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. Jenny Slate is no stranger to lending her voice, as she voiced Bellwether in Zootopia as well as Gidget in The Secret Life of Pets. Lea Salonga is the singing voice of both Mulan and Jasmine in the Disney classics Mulan and Aladdin.

Manny Jacinto is known for his roles in Star Wars: The Acolyte, The Good Place, I Want You Back, and Top Gun: Maverick. Additionally, he is currently filming The Stalemate and is in post-production on Love Language. Last, but not least, Liza Soberano is joining the cast. She played Taffy in Lisa Frankenstein and Alexandra Trese in the mini-series Trese.

Forgotten Island will be an animated adventure comedy that “follows two best friends who become stranded on the mystical world of Nakali, where their only escape might cost them their shared lifetime of memories.”  It is written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado. The film is currently in pre-production with an expected theatrical release date of September 25, 2026. Mark your calendar so you don’t forget!
