Netflix found its star for the hostage drama series Rabbit, Rabbit. Adam Driver, best known for playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, will lead the series. The show comes from the mind and pen of Peter Craig who also wrote The Town and The Batman, and will be directed by Phillip Barantini whose work on Adolescence earned him an Emmy. Craig, Driver, Barantini, Samantha Beddoe, and Bryan Unkeless will serve as executive producers.

Rabbit, Rabbit tells the story of an escaped convict cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop in present day Southern Illinois. To get past law enforcement, a character takes hostages, leading to a standoff between him and the officers as he negotiates for his freedom. This situation escalates quickly into an “unmanageable social experiment with his captives.” Special reinforcements are called in for what the sow describes as “an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator trained in ‘tactical empathy.’” Details are very scarce on this series right now to the point that Driver could either be the hostage taker or the FBI veteran. Netflix apparently won the series from other competitors and granted it a straight-to-series order. This could expedite the process and filming could begin as early as 2026.
