Steven Sorderberg and Adam Driver have given some details about The Hunt for Ben Solo, a film pitch that he worked on with. “In the aftermath of the HFBS situation, I asked Kathy Kennedy if [Lucasfilm Ltd] had ever turned in a finished movie script for greenlight to Disney and had it rejected,” Sorderberg wrote on BlueSky, “She said no, this was a first.” He also did not enjoy lying about the project, but stated, “But it really did need to remain a secret…until now!” As such, new details about the project have only just started to be revealed, and we’ll share them with you.

The pitch would have revolved around Ben Solo, better known as Kylo Ren, after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. His redemption quest would have been the main plot of the film. Lucasfilm “loved the idea”, according to Driver, but Disney higher-ups ultimately rejected it because “They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.” Sorderberg also commented, “I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I’m just sorry the fans won’t get to see it.” Neither Disney or Lucasfilm commented on the project, but who knows what’ll happen next.
