After months of speculation and radio silence, it’s now been announced that Fionna and Cake will be returning for more adventures in a second season! The news comes this morning via a post from Cartoon Network on X (formerly known as Twitter.)

Previously, creator and showrunner Adam Muto confirmed that he was in talks with Warner Bros Animation for a second season, but the exec who initially greenlit the series was no longer at the studio. With a second season now officially on the way, fans of the long-running Adventure Time series hopefully won’t be left waiting too long for adventures in the Land of Ooo, or its massive multiverse.

RELATED:

Fionna and Cake is a spinoff/sequel to the original Adventure Time series, focusing on titular characters Fionna and Cake (variants of Finn and Jake) in a multiverse-hopping adventure alongside Simon Petrikov, the man formerly known as Ice King, as they search for a way to bring magic back to their world after Ice King’s de-transformation turns their world into one painfully reminiscent of the real world. The first season ran for ten episodes this past summer on Max.

Fionna and Cake is available to stream on Max.
