First Images From 'Legend Of Zelda' Are Released

Insert that famous jingle here, because we just just received some first photos from the Legend of Zelda movie. These three photos, taken from the filming location in New Zealand, show off the main actors for Link and Zelda. We can see one of them, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, sitting, while the other, Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, is standing. We get some good looks at their outfits, including Zelda’s very Breath of the Wild-esque outfit. We don’t get a feel for their acting, but that’s not really what pictures are for. Regardless, this is still an interesting look into the new film.
The Legend of Zelda is being produced by Columbia Pictures, Arad Productions, and Oddball Entertainment for Sony Pictures. It is currently filming in New Zealand, the location of films such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Filming is expected to wrap in April 2026, and is planned for a May 7, 2027 release. This will be the first live action movie based on The Legend of Zelda video game series, which has been going strong since the year 1986. We will be keeping a close eye on the production of the movie, and will be giving you the details as they come out.
