We are done waiting. On February 1, Transformers fans were surprised with the official trailer for the remaining episodes of Transformers: EarthSpark Season 1. Debuting with its first ten episodes near the tail end of 2022, EarthSpark surprised audiences with its silly charm, enjoyable characters and unique take on the Transformers universe.

With a flashy animation style, engaging storyline and appropriately techno background music, EarthSpark is proving to be a fun and fresh face in the franchise. Now, the team behind the series has given us a new look at the season’s remaining sixteen episodes.

At the forefront of the trailer is our usual cast of characters; that being the Malto family. Throughout the clips used, we can see Robby, Morgan, Twitch and Thrash facing various obstacles and several enemies. Along with our main four characters of the first ten episodes, we can also see the family’s three newest members Hashtag, Jawbreaker and Nightshade, all of whom have taken on their official Transformers forms. Hashtag has a purple paint job with her newly acquired car mode, Jawbreaker is light blue with his own car mode, and Nightshade keeps their pale color with their motorcycle mode.   Though along with the new siblings, there are quite a few familiar faces that can also be seen.

Among the most notable additions are Grimlock, leader of the Dinobots, and Tarantulas, a member of the Predacons. With two of the most famous organic Transformers having been added to the cast, one can't help but wonder if the series will be diving further into the Beast Wars side of the franchise. This would be timely development given the upcoming release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in July of this year.

Along with Grimlock and Tarantulas, we can also see franchise staples Shockwave and Starscream, the latter previously being briefly seen in one of the Deception prisons operated by G.H.O.S.T. At one point, Shockwave can be seen alongside a mysterious glowing cube. Could this be the Allspark or another important Cybertronian artifact? And if so, how will it play into the still-growing Decepticon uprising and Mandroid’s plans for the Autobots?

The EarthSpark Autobots seem to have quite a challenge ahead of them. With so many Decepticons and even a Dinobot coming up against their still unstable family, we’ll have to see if the Maltos and their new automaton additions can come into their own and prevent another war between the many different Transformers factions. Hopefully, this rookie team of robots will be more than meets the eye. Transformers: EarthSpark returns with its eleventh episode this March 3rd exclusively on Paramount+.
