Henry Cavill Injured While Training For 'Highlander'

Actor Henry Cavill has unfortunately sustained an injury while training for the newest iteration of the Highlander IP.
Details are currently scant on how Cavill was injured, but the situation appears significant enough that the film’s production has apparently been delayed until 2026. Originally set to start filming this year, the Cavill-starring Highlander has taken a great deal of time to come together. As far back as 2019, director Chad Stahelski (well known for his work in John Wick) was part of the project, and he has remained attached all this time later.
Plot information about the film is scarce, simply that Cavill will play the lead. Despite the film not having started filming, Lionsgate is apparently prepared to begin work on a new TV show connected to the film, likely depending on how well it is received by audiences and fans, both of the IP and of Cavill personally.
This injury may also impact Cavill’s ongoing active participation in developing Warhammer for the small screen with Amazon and Games Workshop. But the nature of the injury will prove key. Hopefully, Cavill is doing better soon, and we hear more updates from his many ongoing projects. Depending on the injury, it could make for a good story on a talk show or during an interview sometime in the near future.
